Jekyll Tree Lighting Festival
The day after Thanksgiving is often when families start to pull out their holiday decorations to get ready for Christmas. One event that also brings out the holiday season is a tree lighting ceremony which is done each year the day after Thanksgiving on Jekyll Island. This nearby island will be hosting their annual Tree Lighting Festival in their Historic District. A variety of Christmas lights and decorations will be on display. Additional festivities include craft workshops, caroling, and themed tours of the area. The tree will be officially lit up at sundown the day after Thanksgiving.
