Elmo and Sam's Cottage

We just rented this beautiful house for 17 days where we celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary! The house was beautiful! It was clean and had everything we needed! It was close to the Beach and other site seeing destinations and places to eat. The neighborhood is very quiet and clean and beautiful! We could not have asked for anything better! The home was very comfortable and in a great location. There were plenty of restaurants and some shopping nearby, and it was very easy traveling around the island and to Brunswick. We would certainly return to this property on our next trip.

First time to Saint Simons Island and since we were travelling with an elderly dog this house was perfect for us. Great location in the Sea Palms development. We played golf at Sea Palms a few times. Great neighborhood to walk and close to the bike path to ride a bike into town. We had a couple of family members stay with us, and there was plenty of room. Gourmet kitchen is a wonderful place to cook and enjoy meals with family. TV's in every room. Wifi is a bit shaky, so if you are planning to work remotely and need a solid connection you might consider bringing your own hotspot. Other than that, we loved Elmo and Sam's cottage and hope to be back next year.

We (my husband and I and our Labrador Retriever) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Elmo and Sam's cottage. House was clean and spacious with comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen (first class refrigerator/freezer and gas range) and fenced in back yard. Neighborhood was terrific for daily dog walks (minimal traffic, nice scenery, pleasant neighbors). Really appreciated Lilmar's great email communications before our stay to make for an easy check-in and dog-friendly restaurant suggestions. I had to work some remotely for my corporate job while at the house and wifi was excellent for video conferencing as well as streaming movies when we wanted to chill in the living room. House was in great location for easy access to parks/beaches/restaurants in SSI, Jekyll & Brunswick.

Nice ranch-style house w/garage in a very nice neighborhood - very spacious with lots of cable TVs! The lanai and backyard are nice in warm weather -access is limited to sliders that are working. The appliances are modern and super-sized! Any issues were taken care of courteously and efficiently. When returning to the area, we will check on this place first!

We enjoyed our week long stay here. It’s in a quiet neighborhood that is convenient to everything. The mattresses are comfortable and the bedding nice. Slept wonderfully. Loved the walk in shower. I can’t say enough good things about this home. My furbaby loved the fenced in yard and the screened porch. I don’t like to travel without him so it’s great to be able to bring him and have him enjoy it too. It was so nice having a washer and dryer also. The big TVs were a plus. The refrigerator was great to be able to get things cold for the beach. Thank you for sharing this wonderful home with us. We will be back!!!

We were delighted to have such a beautiful backyard for our dogs. The house felt safe and secure, and was quiet. It was easy to get to all things on the island. The kitchen was well appointed. There is a memory foam mattress in the master and regular mattresses in the other rooms

This was our fourth time staying at Sam & Elmo’s. I travel to SSI every year with my husband and small sons. It’s a very nice house in an upscale neighborhood on a golf course. We don’t eat out when we visit and the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook with. That’s part of why we keep coming back to the property. However, I am disappointed to say that when we arrived the oven was making a horrible beeping noise. It was extremely loud and could be heard throughout the house. We called the management company and they suggested we turn off the circuit breaker power to the oven which we did. However, this meant we couldn’t cook breakfast or lunch as the oven and stovetop were on same switch. Someone came to service the oven a little after lunchtime the next day. While I’m glad the oven was fixed fairly quickly it was a serious inconvenience.

This is our third year staying at Sam and Elmo’s. The property is beautiful and in an established and very attractive golf club neighborhood. I love taking morning runs and admiring all of the well kept homes. The ‘cottage’ which is actually a beautiful HOUSE is spacious and has everything you need including a Laundry room and three bathrooms. The back patio and screened in porch are just lovely and I spend a lot of my time there in those areas. The home has always been very clean and well stocked with amenities. The location is also great. Right near the grocery store , restaurants and 10ish minutes (if that) from the beach. I can’t say enough about the property. It’s really our home away from home.

We were visiting several local family members, and this property provided all that we needed. Great kitchen to cook in with all the essentials. No ice machine but loads of ice trays. We stayed at Elmo & Sam's cottage while visiting several family members who live locally; it was a great place for three adults to nest. The kitchen was a delight to cook in, providing all we needed. There is no ice machine but loads of ice trays. The screened in porch is a delightful place to eat while avoiding lots of local bugs. Lots of places to set up our computers to keep up with work while visiting and WiFi worked well. We especially enjoyed the luxurious master bathroom & the mature trees and plants in the well-maintained yard. The front foyer made an excellent yoga studio! There is no pool, which did not concern us as we swam at both a local pool and delightful local beaches. The beach chairs came in handy; we never found the beach towels that were supposed to come with the house, but we had our own, and all other linens were provided and even luxurious!

3 generations, totaling 5 women and me, from our family enjoyed our time at Elmo and Sam's Cottage. The cottage was beautiful, provided privacy, and was well situated to see St. Simon's Island. While there, the freezer went out but Susan Jobe was quick to respond and provided a back-up capability. She also helped one of our daughter's who is diabetic to freeze some ice to safeguard her insulin at the beach. Susan's husband was also helpful with beach tips. We will likely come again we had such a good time. Would like to know more about Elmo and Sam since they were WWII veterans since I'm retired from the Army myself. Sincerely, Drew Landrus

We enjoyed the house & the location. The neighborhood was great for dog walking with charming homes throughout all nestled inside the Sea Palms Resort. The back patio was inviting for a late day beverage & included a clean gas grill with propane that you don't find at many rentals. When you include the St. Simons area and nearby ocean, this is a home that moves to the top of the list.

This property is lovely and exactly as advertised- with one major downside being the beds. The king and the queen bed were almost unsleepable. My husband had to sleep on one of the twin beds and I went back and forth between the queen and the couch. Didn't love sleeping in separate rooms for a month. Honestly no other complaints, and such a simple fix that I sincerely hope they take into consideration. It would be a perfect rental if the beds and mattresses were replaced in both the larger bedrooms.

The house was very spacious and well maintained. Perfect location for privacy and also being close to town. Added bonus was in a golf community. The layout was perfect for large families to have privacy and space. The only thing I could recommend for improvement would be new carpet in bedrooms other than that the home was very clean and felt very comfortable. We will definitely stay here again!

Sam and Elmo's was a delight. My husband and I and Our Golden stayed, We did leave early due to weather. Extremely Clean. Yard spacious and Pretty. We enjoyed sitting on the open patio. Master bedroom bed not a good fit for us, as it felt like you sunk in but we moved to the queen bedroom and were quite happy with that, Neighborhood has such pretty homes and quiet. Colonial street which house is next to was quite busy and No one was going 25 MPH so we found other routes for our dog walking. Sal's Italian Restaurant was our favorite. Easy to get to Village and Beach. this area a bit busier on Frederica Road compared to when we stayed closer to village. But for yard and area we would stay again and try to book in warmer month.

Spacious, well equipped, and relaxing. We enjoyed our weekend stay in the Sea Palms neighborhood. Great for walks, away from the hustle and bustle, and just a 10 minute drive to the beaches. The new Pedego Electric Bike store is just around the block! One surprising moment was when two armadillos visited the driveway while I walked our dog at night. I’ve submitted a few suggestions to management, but overall we were pleased by the home.

We stayed here for a four day getaway weekend and it was perfect for us. Very clean and comfortable. The gorgeous woodwork throughout the house was impressive, as were the unique wood/tile floors. Great location, and an easy drive to pretty much everywhere on the island. The neighborhood was very pretty and the neighbors were friendly when we took walks.

This home is so fabulous! We had everything we needed!m kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans and a beautiful professional refrigerator and stove! The bedrooms are wonderful with a screened in porch and plenty of sitting space. On arrival the house was super clean! We will definitely stay here again and agin!

My husband and I enjoyed a quiet stay at the property with our dog (we brought his bed) and it was wonderful! We enjoyed the neighborhood with the live oaks and proximity to restaurants and the grocery store. Very good and, I should say, as beautiful as the pix!

Overall we were pleased with the rental. Rule of no smoking on the grounds was a little extreme, I can see not in the house but not even in the yard? I guess someone left butts around. Shame on them. Location was second to none!

We normally go to SSI every July 4th for vacation. We are from there and have been gone 11 years but have lots of friends and family still there! We completely enjoyed our time there & didn’t want to leave. The home is wonderful and Sea Palms is a favorite neighborhood! If we haven’t moved back there by next summer we will be booking there again to visit!

This was our second time at Sam & Elmo's Cottage. The cottage is actually a large and spacious house with a beautifully manicured yard. The subdivision is beautiful as well ad everyone is friendly. The home is clean and stocked with everything you need to prepare food. We love eating meals on the large screened in porch or taking naps in the master bedroom that overlooks the patio. It's a relaxing and refreshing retreat. One other thing- my sons (4 & 6) love this place. It's kid friendly (meaning nothing for them to destroy) and we even played tag in the yard. I highly recommend Same & Elmos.

The home was just as described. We loved everything about it. The kitchen was awesome, the house provided all of the needed amenities. The house is warm and inviting as well as spacious enough to sneak away for a quiet nap. We loved the yard, grill and enclosed patio. The neighborhood is beautiful and close to the beach and restaurants.

We loved everything about this house. The property is beautiful, the house is spacious and comfortable. I loved the amazing kitchen that had all of the amenities one would need. The screened in patio was perfect for game night and the backyard was a peaceful, beautiful setting. We couldn’t have asked for a better get away and can’t wait to come back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Elmo's and Sam's Cottage on St Simons Island. The house was just as described and it's located in a very nice area on the island. Plenty of room for two of us and our two small dogs. Having the fenced in back yard makes it nice for travelling with the dogs. We'd love to return sometime...we had a great visit. Thanks.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on St Simons Island. The house was in a very nice neighborhood and it was just as described. Plenty of room for two of us and our pair of small dogs...having the fenced in yard makes it nice to travel with the dogs. We'd love to come back sometime...thanks.

We had the most wonderful experience hosting our family for Thanksgiving in this lovely home. The floor plan was perfect for entertaining and the kitchen is a dream. We had absolutely everything we needed. I wish I could make this house my home perm entry!

What a beautiful property. The cottage exceeded our expectations. Lots of internal upgrades on this cottage and a top notch kitchen perfect for feeding a big family. Huge corner lot with immense privacy was also another plus. The location was superb also with easy on/off island access and nearby to all local amenities/attractions. We will 100% be back!

We had a wonderful time! With the pandemic going on I was very concerned about cleanliness. The house was immaculate, decorated beautifully and spacious. It was nicely supplied with bathroom towels, beach towels, beach chairs, nice soap, bathroom air fresher an iron (I've had rentals that don't include that) and some spices. These are small items but they were nice touches. The home had four TVs and the one in the main room was a really large smart TV. There is also one in the kitchen which allowed me to watch TV and cook. The kitchen was spacious and had a high end oven and refrigerator/ freezer. Our favorite spot was the screened in porch where we ate our meals. My husband also loved the grill on the patio and all of the grilling equipment. The patio overlooked the nice sized yard where by boys loved playing tag and running around. The grounds were lovely as well and I spent some time just walking around and admiring the landscaping. The neighborhood is very nice as well with older (1960s-1970s) well kept houses. It is a great neighborhood for a bicycle ride or a morning walk. The rental company was excellent and got back to me very quickly when ever I contacted them. One of the doors to the patio broke and they had someone to fix it within the hour. Cottage is an easy drive to the beach and about a mile from a grocery store and other stores. Really a perfect place is traveling with your family.

We really enjoyed our week-long stay at Sam and Elmo’s Cottage! It was clean and spacious, and was within close driving distance to everywhere we wanted to go on St. Simon’s Island. We never had any trouble finding parking near the pier or the beach, and the house was a great “home base” to get away from the crowds and regroup in the quiet and friendly neighborhood. The fenced in back yard is beautiful and gave our Boston Terrier a little more freedom to explore on her own. When we had some trouble with the AC, the property manager responded immediately and sent someone out to fix it the same day. I wish the weather had been a little cooler so we could have relaxed on the nice screened-in porch a little more! We made some great memories at Sam and Elmo’s Cottage, and would definitely stay there again! It has everything you need and more.

Elmo and Sam’s Cottage is a misnomer. It’s a luxurious home, located in a prestigious neighborhood in St. Simon’s. The home features a chef’s kitchen to die for, including an Electrolux, side by side fridge and freezer and a six-top gas range with two double ovens. Toss in a Bosch Dishwasher, and a flat screen TV. The back yard is completely fenced in and private. Perfect for entertaining and relaxing, this setting lends itself to a safe haven for your pet. Our Aussie-doodle loved it. Especially the "girl" next door, he swooned for. A generous landscape compliments the grounds, overshadowed by the majestic Live Oaks, with cascading Spanish Moss adorning their branches. It may be a 10-minute drive to the beach, but it’s only a five-minute drive to some of the finest restaurants on St. Simon's.
