Perfect location to relax on the beach and enjoy the quieter life of St. Simons with our senior dog. Appreciate the cleanliness and good communication of host. While there’s only a starter set of household supplies, it was easily enough for the stay. Included beach chairs and a TON of beach towels which was helpful!

Great Location, steps to the beach and some really great restaurants. The home was clean and had everything we needed for cooking and for beach time. The beds were very comfy as were the bath and generous beach towels. The garage for storing our sports gear and staying dry while packing and unpacking was an absolute necessary. We would stay here again. Thank you so much!

Stone's Throw Cottage had everything we needed for a great vacation and more. It was within walking distance to the pier. The beach area was large enough to accommodate all the people and very close to the cottage. It was clean. Loved how the light switches were labeled so that we didn't have to search for the right one. When one of the air conditioner units stopped working after a couple of days, they had it back up and running in a couple hours. Great service!

The property was bright and inviting. The location was also very convenient as it was between good restaurants and the pier. It was very close to the beach, and the drive to jekyll was amazing. However, there was mold in the washer. I understand it is a very moist environment, but it may have been skipped over during the reset. Other than that, it was a very pleasing visit, and we cannot wait for the next time we return.

Loved this cottage, great layout and location! Only suggestion is that we were never able to stream Netflix or Prime, called and someone was sent out but they couldn’t do it either. I don’t know if it was just human error or the actual TVs but it would be worth looking into it for future guests. Other than that, all was great!

We sincerely apologize for any trouble you experienced logging into Netflix during your visit. We understand how relaxing it is to watch a favorite show after a day at the beach.  Just to clarify for future reference, all the TVs are equipped with DirecTV. Additionally, the downstairs TV has Roku, which allows guests to access their streaming services like Netflix and Prime Video. The upstairs TV is set up with DirecTV only and, unfortunately, not a smart TV.  We truly enjoyed hosting you and hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to St. Simons Island on your next visit.

We had a great time staying at Stone’s Throw Cottage. The house is super close to beach access on a quiet street. It’s walkable ~5 min to a few restaurants & ~20 min to the pier village. The house itself is fantastic - plenty of room for my husband, our dog, and me. There were beach chairs & umbrellas in the garage & plenty of beach towels. There were lots of little things that made our stay even comfortable, like bowls and treats for our dog!

Great quiet location, ideal for 2 couples (bedrooms on separate floors). Close to everything, easy walk into village. House is so close to beach with access at end of block. Umbrella/beach chairs in garage, so don't have to rent them. Would highly recommend this cottage as a rental.

We may have a new tradition now of spending Christmas on Saint Simons Island! This lovely, well appointed home was convenient to our favorite restaurants, and just a hop, skip, and a jump onto the beach. We loved our week at Stones Throw Cottage. It was exactly as advertised. Very short walk to beach. We brought our own bikes and enjoyed the bike paths all over the island. We would love to stay here again on a return visit to SSI. Lilmar was great to work with. Easy communication and great communication with us about rental unit and the area.

We arrived in time for the Tropical Storm but that didn't stop us from enjoying Stones Throw Cottage. We had time to gather groceries and get back to the cottage prior to the torrential downpours. The issues we had were quickly responded to and resolved by the Lilmar team - thank you. Walking to restaurants is one of the best perks (once the storm moved out):)

Everything about our stay was amazing. The property was very clean and well maintained. We felt really comfortable and safe through out the stay and our pup did too. We were only 80 yds away from beach access and the morning sunrises were epic. The property had all we needed and more for the beach. The best part about the location is how central it is to all that St. Simon’s has to offer. It was our first family vacation bringing our dog and overall we had an amazing trip. We will be back again and hope to book this same location in the future.

Stones Throw Cottage is THE perfect beach house in SSI. Our favorite part was how close it is to the beach! It was sparkling clean, inviting and comfortable. Had lots of extras and the property management company was extremely responsive and took care of a couple of things we needed super quickly. I have a list of things that I feel should be available for the $ amount paid for the stay. Also, if there are any kind of cameras in the home, they should be removed - whether they are working or not - that is very disconcerting to have that on the wall, not knowing if it is on or not. We had a wonderful stay at Stones throw cottage, the location is just perfect! There is a beach access point just steps away from the house, it was great to have such easy access to the beach. There’s a good selection of restaurants nearby & the village/pier area is only a short walk away. We really enjoyed sitting on the front balcony with our morning coffee, our dogs loved this spot too - perfect for a rest after a long walk on the beach! The rental management were very responsive to any questions we had, they were very informative regarding check-in & check out procedures excellent communication throughout. The house had everything we needed to enjoy our stay & I’m sure we’ll be back again.

Very nice home, and a great location. Quite a lot of stairs to walk up and down both to enter the property and travel between the 2 floors so keep that in mind if you are interested in renting this property. Re the steps, the ones leading from the main level to the loft are quite slippery and could use a strip or carpet across each step to make them safer, but, other than that, we loved the house. It's only about 150 feet to the beach and there are a number of shops, eateries and bars within a 3/4 mile walk. Thanks for the great trip!

My husband and I were trying St Simons island for the first time wanting to spend a couple weeks somewhere sunnier and a little warmer. The house was the perfect location....steps from the beautiful beach, very near the restaurants and shops near King and Prince and an easy walk to the village. We barely used our car. The house had great afternoon sun which we enjoyed on the balconies when we weren't walking on the beach. Kitchen was very well equipped. Very comfortable beds and plenty of towels. Would highly recommend.

The location is perfect. You are steps from the beach, an easy walk to village and to other shops/restaurants near the King and Prince. We barely ever used our car. The house is very well stocked...everything you might need in the kitchen, plenty of towels, games, yoga mat, they thought of alot. The house gets great natural light and in January we had great afternoon sun on both balconies. Highly recommend. And Lilmar was super responsive to any emails.

After a hellacious first night of the burglar alarm repeatedly going off with no accessible help, the remainder of our stay proved very pleasant. This cozy townhouse was perfect for three of us and our dog. We loved long walks on the beach and easy walks to the village. The furnishings are very nice, especially for a dog welcoming home. The beds are comfortable and appliances new. We appreciated the welcome supplies left by management company as well as some staples in the pantry such as salt/pepper and olive oil. We loved being able to park our cars in the garage, which was clean and well organized. Even though we didn’t use any of the beach chairs, they seemed to be in good condition. The shower/hose outside was easily accessible to clean the sand off of our feet and our dog. We had both warm and cold weather during our short stay so we used both AC and heat. They both worked very well. Management company handled the first night’s mishap in a fair and equitable way. Overall, we would highly recommend Stone’s Throw Cottage.

Relaxing week stay. Within steps of the beach without the (foot / vehicle) traffic. Quiet (and preferred) location. Nicely furnished and layout lends itself to privacy as needed. Security system continued to beep after we gained access to the unit one day, and management promptly addressed. Had no other on-site issue. Having beach chairs and similar on-site was welcome. Would heartily recommend.

The townhome was very clean and we loved that it was a close walk to the beach. It was also close to the downtown area, restaurants and shops. It was equipped with all the necessities for a 5 day stay. The only complaint we had was that the neighbors were doing construction and it was loud throughout the day and evenings. The construction crew were staying there throughout the time so it was difficult to enjoy the outdoor balconies.

Husband and I stayed here with our dogs. Highlight of the property is the proximity to the beach-seriously a 5 minute walk. Two porches and a grill were nice too. Whole property needs to be scrubbed with a magic eraser as it has clearly seen a lot.of traffic, and the floors and walls need a touch of TLC, but we would be open to staying here again.

We had a great time at A Stone ‘s Throw. The kids loved riding bikes and sitting on the upstairs porch. It is a short walk to the beach path. We all enjoyed our evening walks on the beach looking for crabs. The rental was very clean and well decorated. Most everything that you need for a pleasant stay is provided. All of the fun places to visit in St. Simons are only a short ride away. We will be back again someday soon!

The Stones Throw is located close to beach and lots of restaurants, and we appreciated that it’s pet friendly. It’s a little misleading that it sleeps 8, because you pull both couches out at the same time..they’re too close together. (The pullout mattress is in dire need of replacement.) Kitchen stocked well, with the exception of cutlery (only two teaspoons). Decor is very nice, and great attention was given to ensuring cleanliness. All in all, we had a nice visit and were grateful to find a spot close to the beach and that allowed us to bring our dog.

We recently ended a 2-month trip during which we stayed in 7 different VRBO listed properties. For this trip we selected only 5 star rated listings. We wanted to wait until the trip was complete before leaving reviews in order to have a complete comparison. With 5 star properties the expectations are essentially that all things will be good - and for the most part things were good. We will only note the details that we found to be disappointing. Please assume everything else was worth the 5 star rating! It is clear from the listing photos that there are a lot of steps - be ready to deal with them. The unit itself is very nice - very livable. We would rent this unit again.

Great experience for our family! It’s literally a stones throw from the beach and has a very deep garage that we were able to get two long trucks into. Lots of toys for the kiddos too! If I could suggest one addition to consider, adding a baby gate that you store in the washroom so that it can be pulled out and installed at the top of the stairs for families traveling with small children. It’s really an impeccable place though and we had a wonderful time!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is very comfortable and clean. The area is quiet and relaxing. Access to the beach is good. Dog friendly beach is a little misleading. From Memorial Day to Labor Day can only take dogs on beach before 9:00 am and after 6:00 pm. Grocery store, restaurants, and activities are close by. Loved the bike trail. Providing all the beach stuff, towels, chairs, wagon, etc is a big plus. It eliminates having to bring all that from home. This was our first trip to Saint Simons Island. We will be back for sure.

Overall, I really liked this beach Home. Extremely close to the beach entrance (maybe 200-300yds), quite neighborhood, nicely furnished, kitchen was equipped well, etc... Only minor complaints - lots of stairs for my Elderly parents and only basic cable (no ESPN or Golf Channel) for the sports addicted. Everything else (including the responsiveness of the owner - Phillip) was TOP NOTCH!

It would be super easy to hunker down and just hang out at this beautiful new home. The kitchen is stocked with all you need to get cookin'. The two porches are perfect for reading and people watching. The grill in the back is super big and works great. But you'd be missing out on way too much. Only 80 meters down the street is the entrance to a beach that gets little traffic in the early AM. My wife and I would take our dogs and coffee and watch dolphins swim about 50 meters off shore. Then there's 20 or so restaurants and pubs within a 10-15 minute walk. Our favorites were Del Sur (a small Argentinian restaurant), the 1/2 shell (a friendly seafood joint) and the BeachComber (a hole in the wall smoke shack with amazing brisket, pulled pork, etc). Walks at night through are amazing under the giant oaks with Spanish moss. The narrow streets wind around neighborhoods where the architecture and landscaping are equally eclectic in a beachy sort of way. There's so much more to write about - pre-revolutionary history, kayaking, driftwood beach, bicycle paths across the whole island, etc. - but you'll find all that online when you Google St. Simons, Jekyll Island and Sea Island. One thing we will tell you for sure ... this home is the ideal spot to drop your anchor for whatever adventure you have in mind. Enjoy.

Really enjoyed our stay in this great property!! The booking process was easy, the owner was great to deal with. The location of the house is ideal, beach at the end of the street & walking distance to great restaurants. The house has everything you need to make you feel at home!! The outdoor patio was the perfect place to hangout and relax after a day at the beach or exploring the island! I’d highly recommend this place & I’m sure we’ll be back again - soon !!!!

SSI seems to have recovered from the most recent hurricane. The house, which is one block from the beach, seems to have had no ills effects. Split bedroom plan was great. Parents downstairs and plenty of room for the teenagers upstairs.

Unfortunately, we never had the opportunity to stay in Phillip's house at SSI due to Hurricane Matthew. However, Phillip was in communication with us leading up to the storm and worked with us in every way possible.
