The home is situated in a great neighborhood located within minutes to everything you would want to get to. The home is very clean and inviting and the yard is lovely. Our dog especially enjoyed the yard Highly recommend

Home is located in a great area close to south beach. Kids were able to ride their bikes to the village. The layout of the home is perfect for families. Nice back yard and comfy beds. Wonderful hot showers! We would stay here again

Sanderling is a great cottage with an open floor plan that suits families located in a cute neighborhood that gives easy access to the village on south shore and east beach. I would not be surprised to find that the owner comes and stays in the home frequently because it is nicely appointed, especially the kitchen. You can find everything you need in the cabinets and pantry, which made it easy to prepare meals at home instead of eating out every night. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely rent this same cottage again.

We had a wonderful trip to St Simons Island! The cottage was perfect for us and our pups. The yard was large with a sturdy privacy fence and nice grass and trees. The house was super cute and nicely appointed. Great location very close to the Pier Village shops and restaurants.

Sanderling Cottage was great. So close the the lighthouse area and the wharf. Short drive over to East Beach. The cottage was comfortable and clean and just the right size for five of us. We would’ve liked a regular bed in the 3rd bedroom instead of the Murphy Bed. It was a bit creaky and not as comfortable. The yard was beautiful and great for our pup. We would definitely stay again!

The house was perfect for what we were looking for during our stay. Everything was very clean and all items we needed were provided. Communication with the host was very prompt. We also appreciated the gear rental services provided that dropped off bikes at the house for our stay duration. The neighborhood was very safe for bike riding/walking around with a 2 year old. We also liked the layout of the house where two groups of people could stay on opposite sides of the house for extra noise control. The fenced in backyard was also enjoyable. Would highly recommend!

The house was really adorable. But I fell in love with the backyard stayed out there for hours sitting underneath the oak tree and their chairs. Just put a fan on me and you could stay all day and my dogs absolutely loved being back there. The kitchen had everything you needed to make dinners at home The master bedroom the bed was very very comfortable, and I fell in love with their sheets. The house was great. Very nicely stocked. The backyard could use some maintenance as there are a ton of dead leaves and a breeding ground for the already many mosquitoes. The large area of dirt becomes mud in the rain, overall messy especially with a pup. The shards of shells on the floor make for a hazard on the bare feet. The kitchen was awesome for cooking and the split floor plan was great, the kids could be in one area while the adults relaxed. The room with the murphy bed needs some door repairs but nothing that interrupted our stay. All and all a great stay. Easy drive into town. Supermarket right down the street. Great neighborhood to walk in.

Lilmar really makes a great effort to communicate promptly and frequently. Received emails from them before, during, and after our stay. Nice. In fact, I was so worried about checking in too soon (based on emails from Lilmar), that we waited in the driveway until 4:00 pm only to notice a tag on the door indicating the property was ready. Maybe add that to your communication- “if you see a tag on the door knob, your property may be ready early”. As for the property - very clean, comfortable bed, nice neighborhood, and well stocked kitchen. Only issue as noted by others - poor Internet and cable service. These utilities were not working on arrival. We notified Lilmar and they tried to rectify the situation as best they could based on the fact that it was almost 5:00 pm and most service people were now unavailable. Lilmar service people were dispatched first thing in the morning and then the internet provider arrived a little later. A hot spot thingy was provided by Lilmar and the service provider got the internet working- which would end up being temporarily- for the day. The following morning everything was out again and we decided to leave a day early since it was raining and predicted to rain most of the day. Not sure if the internet issue is house specific or a SSI issue since we stayed in SSI earlier in the year and had the same problem with another property (not Lilmar associated). Thank you Lilmar for your efforts and concerns!

The home was very clean & well kept. Kitchen was stocked well and items were easy to locate. Furniture & bedding was nice & comfortable. We stayed for a week in June at the Sanderling Cottage and we love this place! First off, it is the cleanest rental we’ve ever stayed in…not even dust bunnies on the wicker furniture! We had 2 kids, 2 parents, and 1 grandparent, and this cottage was the perfect size for us all to have separate spaces but be cozy together during gathering times. Perfect backyard for our very large dog…actual grass in the backyard and very sturdy fence. The owners have truly thought of everything and anticipated every need. The location is central to all the things we were there for…7 minute drive to East Beach, 3 minutes to the village, and far enough away to be quiet and private. We will 100% book to stay here the next time we come to SSI!

The property was absolutely wonderful in every regard except one. We had a big problem with the internet service, which also sometimes affected the television service. We contacted the property manager who was very nice and promptly brought a "mobile hot spot", which gave us a second internet option, but that too failed from time to time. In previous comments on this site and otherwise it seems that the problem with the internet service has been known. Again the property was otherwise perfect as to cleanliness, location, neighborhood and as equipped. However if I was to stay in St. Simons again I would want some assurance beforehand that the internet service had been corrected. If I were a professional on vacation or just a person that uses the internet a lot, I would not be satisfied with the current internet service.

After your departure, Xfinity was able to resolve the issue. For 5 years the internet / WiFi has not been an issue, but we had a summer storm that caused the issue in August. Xfinity has been out 3 times now and we have replaced 2 modems, ran a new service line and connections. Xfinity believes the issue is resolved now. We hope you will return again soon! Two things would have made our stay better: TVs in the bedrooms and a pool. All posted in the listing so I was aware ahead of time. Really enjoyed our stay. I improvement needed though, the internet signal is intermittent and cuts out, often for 1hr or so. I think signal to house is the issue. When out, both the WiFi and Ethernet from router is out.

I can't say enough about this cottage. It looks even better in person, so many beautiful details in each room. Loved the amount of light and windows, the shades are great also. Every room was well decorated, stocked and inviting. The kitchen has a great pantry with everything you may need. The outdoor fenced yard was excellent for the dogs. The neighborhood is great and super conveniently located to the Pier/downtown area and beaches. It was our first visit to St Simons, and for sure not the last. This cottage was absolutely perfect and if one was in the market for a home on SSI, this would be the one. Spacious, large fenced rear yard, friendly neighbors, and right in the heart of things. Within walking distance to the pier, lighthouse, shopping, restaurants, and the amazing Mallory Park, this is where we’d all want to be. I ended up staying by myself - husband was in hospital- but my pop and I found so many new adventures to explore. This is a 3-bedroom cottage, with one king, the singles, and a Murphy bed. And the kitchen was beautiful- the blue glass tiles looked handmade. (Master bath was a bit short on counter space, but wasn’t a problem.). I hope to stay here again, this time in spring with my husband. LOVED IT!

The house was very comfortable for my husband and I to stay, along with our two dogs. The backyard was large enough for the dogs to run and play, and it had a nice privacy fence. I loved that there were outside dog toys already in the backyard. There is a nice patio with a table and chairs to enjoy the evening as the sun goes down. We didn't use the grill out back, but it was nice and clean for the next renters to use. The house was well stocked with everything you could imagine. I loved everything the kitchen had to offer. Plenty of kitchen gadgets and appliances for one wanting to use them. The master bedroom was all we used, but it was very comfortable and spacious for a rental. It took a few days for us to get used to the noise of being so close to an airport, but once we got used to it, we would sit out on the front porch and watch all the planes take off. The neighborhood is very nice, safe and friendly. I would recommend renting this house for anyone visiting the area.

This was our first visit to Saint Simons Island and we absolutely loved our stay. The house was much more spacious in person than in pictures. There was plenty of room for my wife and three kids (11 , 9 and 1). The neighborhood was perfect and everything was a short drive/walk away. This was our first visit to Saint Simons Island and we absolutely loved our stay. The house was much more spacious in person than in pictures. There was plenty of room for my wife and three kids (11 , 9 and 1). The neighborhood was perfect and everything was a short drive/walk away. I would highly recommend staying here and can't wait to go back!

We had such a great time at Sanderling Cottage. The house was clean, well-maintained and equipped with beach toys, chairs and towels. The backyard was fenced and our 5-month old puppy adored it, roaming around and having a great time. The kitchen had everything one could need for extended stays, and there were many nice little touches, such as herbs and spices, board games, and supplies for our puppy. The house perfectly matched the listing, and the neighborhood was great. Easy cycle ride to the Pier Village and beach. We can't wait to come back.

We had such a great time at Sanderling Cottage. The house was clean, well-maintained and equipped with beach toys, chairs and towels. The neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful to relax and sit in the back yard and dream away while rocking in the hammock. The linens were fresh and crisp as if the were hardly used. It was very safe and gave a peace of mind if there are small ones involved, even the fury four legged children :) Just a wonderful way to start off the summer of 2021 and if all else goes the same way as our stay at this cottage went then life will be golden. By the way, I have never given a review before but this one was definitely worth sharing my thoughts.

This cottage exceeded our expectations! It was super clean, comfortable and well-stocked. We were impressed with how many tools, spices and extra things were in the kitchen. Our 4 year old enjoyed all the kids’ board games. He also enjoyed being able to see and hear the planes take off- they weren’t loud enough to wake us up though, which was great. We also celebrated our little one’s 2nd birthday here. The location is very good, and we enjoyed having a bit of privacy too. SSI is such a beautiful hidden gem. We love it here. Thank you! We hope to be back!

The cottage was great. It was very clean and well stocked. It is in a neighborhood with other houses very close, but has a privacy fence so you can still sit outside and feel alone Just minutes from the beach and lots of restaurants. Very nice!

We had the pleasure of calling your beautiful cottage "home" for the past five weeks. Our seven year old daughter and three year old son never wanted to leave the huge backyard and hammock. The cottage was appointed with absolutely everything you could want. We cooked, grilled, played board games, used your boogie boards and beach towels - and created the most special memories that we will never forget. I could rave about all we did on the island (our favorite place in the world) but your welcoming home is where we had our best times. Thank you for providing a beautiful, comfortable and extremely clean home during such a challenging time in the world during COVID-19. We will be back and are already planning our return. Cottage was very close to the village - a 5 minute drive away. Quiet location, friendly neighbors.. My dog loved the fenced in backyard! My only suggestion would be to up the water pressure...its low (especially in the shower). Furnished nicely, beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed our time there greatly.

My wife and I celebrated our 40th anniversary here. The house was even nicer than the pictures showed. Plenty of room, with two distinct areas in front and back for watching TV, playing games, reading, etc. Location to restaurants and beach was ideal also

We had a wonderful and relaxing long weekend. We come to St Simons Island at least 3 times a year and this was, by far, the best experience we’ve had with a rental cottage. This property was a wonderful place to stay! The accommodations were well equipped, very clean, and extraordinarily charming! The decor is lovely - very nice without being overdone. We felt very at home! The location is perfect - about half a mile from the Village. The king sized bed in the master was so comfortable...and trust me...that means something coming from me. The fenced in yard was perfect for our two dogs. We’ve already checked to see if the property is available for our next visit to the area! This is by far the best VRBO we’ve ever rented!

Though we have vacationed in St Simons numerous times, this was our first time renting a cottage. What a difference, especially if you have a dog. Ours really enjoying the fenced back yard (our own yard isn't). This cottage wants for nothing. Kitchen is better equipped than our own or any vacation rental we have vacationed in. This will now be out first choice when looking to stay in St Simons. Adam was wonderful to work with. He kept us apprised of the hurricane track and called to let us know we were ok to check in as scheduled.

Explored Fort Federica with a very interesting and knowledgeable Tour Guide. Went to the pool at Neptune Park and to East Beach. We enjoyed eating at The Half Shell, Del Sur and Sal’s Neighborhood Pizza.

In addition to relaxing together in the bright family room or in the nicely landscaped yard, we enjoyed taking long walks on the beach and visiting local historic sites. Other highlights included dining at seafood restaurants, participating in a yoga class and getting a terrific haircut at a local salon. It was our second stay at Sanderling Cottage and we look forward to returning!
