Oasis Cottage

This property is conveniently located near the beach and downtown area. The neighborhood is very quiet with the exception of the next door neighbor's dog that barks at all hours of the day. Unfortunately, our stay got off to a rocky start with the first two days of our 12 day stay dealing with maintenance issues from the front door lock not working when we tried to check-in to the washing machine requiring a maintenance repair call in addition to a water leak that had to be investigated and repaired. It felt like we lost two days of our stay while these issues were being handled. The management company was very responsive and apologetic, however, they didn’t really offer a remedy. We did ask for one which they agreed to, however, I thought they might have credited us for the two days we spent dealing with maintenance issues. The exterior space of the home is by far the nicest part of the property with a newer pool that, if you pay to heat, is very nice. The interior is showing its age. Be aware that there is very little counter space in the kitchen and it has a very odd/dated layout. The house was clean and very dog friendly which we appreciated!

We had such a great experience at this property. Communication with the host was excellent, and everything was exactly as described. The house was spotless, the couches and beds were super comfortable, and the amenities were truly top-notch.We stayed over Thanksgiving and really appreciated how much there was to do both inside and outside the home. The house was wonderful! We enjoyed our stay and were very comfortable. My only negative is I wish there was stock of trash bags, laundry detergent, and dishwasher detergent. We were given the starter pack, but for a 5 day stay we didn’t want to buy more. Also, I would have liked to have K-cups included too for the coffee maker.

We just left and can't wait to book Oasis Cottage again. The backyard is a dream and the house had everything we could need. My only request would be curtains for the bedrooms as they all face the street/street lights and it can be very bright at night. Otherwise a great house!

The house is perfect! It has 2 living areas inside and the outside...well, it definitely is an Oasis! Pool, covered sitting area with TV and another covered area with a large table. There's also an outdoor shower. House is very nice and we'll be back!

Check in was easy. Communication was excellent. I love this property. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything. They said bring your own spices, but even those were there. We had a good time, cooking inside and outside. I was a little disappointed that there was no TV in the master, but not a big deal. Also, there’s no direct access to the pool. You have to come out the side door, again, no big deal. I really appreciated that the bathrooms were stocked with shampoo, soap and conditioner. We rented bikes and they were there waiting for upon check-in. I highly recommend this property.

Great property. Pretty much anything and everything you need and want. So I will just touch on a few nuisances. We asked to have the pool heated and paid extra for it, but it got up to hot tub temperature. It was really really hot lol. There were quite a few rules to follow. And I wasn’t crazy about having to strip the beds and do laundry. They just asked that we wash towels that were used for the dog so not that big of a deal. The door lock and key code didn’t always work. like I said, just minor nuisances-we had a fabulous time.

Relaxing Vacation Overall impression of the property was a good one. The house is nice, the outside is definitely setup to enjoy. Please use caution during the summer months walking on the turf or allowing your dogs to walk on it. It gets incredibly hot. The house is close to the beach; an easy walk or bike ride can have you at the beach in 10 minutes or less. We did rent bikes and beach chairs. This was incredibly nice. The equipment was at the house by the time we arrived. We used bikes all week to get to any of the activities on the island.

This property was gorgeous, and the location was great. We aren’t strangers to St Simons, and we loved being so close to the village. The pool was a huge bonus, as this was the first property we’ve had that had a pool. We were all able to do our own thing, and still come together. One of the few things I’d recommend is just putting some sort of note or sign that the turf around the pool gets really really hot. Especially if children are outside, which we didn’t have, but could burn small feet without shoes. It was totally fine in the shade otherwise. A great location, and great for family vacations.

This is a beautiful cottage that looks exactly as pictured. If you’ve used vrbos before on the island that are not through companies just a few things to be aware of: Pros: -Pool is stunning, and the outdoor areas were great. You have to pay additional per night if you want jets or heat for the pool, but we didn’t find it necessary. -Amazing location to town. Nice walk or super fast bike ride. -Bedrooms/bathrooms were clean and averagely comfortable. If you like to watch a movie at night in bed, all rooms have a TV except the primary. -Great kitchen if you like to cook, and outdoor grill if you like to use that. FYIs (not really cons, but things we’d like to have been more aware of) -You are only provided with the bare minimum basic supplies. So you will need to bring your own TP, paper towels, trash bags, detergent (if needed). They only provide what is in the baskets/bins or on the roll. Nothing additional. -This was the first dog friendly rental where it didn’t really feel dog friendly. More so in the sense where you have to make sure your dogs touch NOTHING. Also nothing is provided (not that is has to be, though all the others we’ve stayed at had bowls, dog towels, beds, doggie bags, treats, extra leashes in case, and lists of all vets/dog friendly areas) -For the pool area: be aware that the turf is HOT in the sun.We had no kids this trip, but they would easily burn their feet. There were no signs or verbiage anywhere warning about this. -Couches are some sort of goose or feather down filled and feathers were coming out and very sharp when you sat down. -Water pressure in showers is just ok. If you have thick hai…it’ll be awhile. Overall it was still a beautiful location, so if you have no kids or pets it’s probably perfect for you!

My husband and I were interested in a dog friendly property and a dog friendly beach location, and we were very fortunate to have found this place! The house was beautiful, clean, and came stocked with plenty of helpful amenities including some cooking gear (like spices, oil) as well. The backyard is just as incredible as advertised. We paid extra for the heated pool and it was really warm for the winter weather! We used that and the hot tub daily. The location is nice, with a 10-20 min walk to the beach and most restaurants nearby. The grocery store and other restaurants were just a short 5 min drive. The checkin and checkout process were straight forward and we had no issues at all. The property managers were very communicative from the start and checked in during the stay. We would love to come back again, and have told family and friends about it too!

My husband and I were looking for a dog friendly beach vacation. We decided on SSI and our stay at the Oasis Cottage could not have been nicer! The company was very communicative from the start. The check in and out process went smoothly with no issues. The house was nice, clean and had an amazing backyard. Even though it was winter, the heated pool and hot tub were enjoyed daily! The house comes with a lot of cookware and cooking supplies, even spices and oil which was awesome. The beach and many restaurants/shops were a convenient 10-20 minute walk away. A short 5 minute drive to the grocery store and other great spots. Our two dogs also had a wonderful time enjoying the spacious backyard. We would love to come back any time!

The house is well equipped and the outdoor space is amazing. The pool (heated) was lovely. We really enjoyed our stay on this quiet street in walking distance to the beach. The kitchen had everything needed (except for a regular coffee pot- but did have a Keurig and french press. The only negative comment is that the furniture in the main living area is very uncomfortable to sit on and not supportive.

We loved staying at this property with family, as well as our pup who thoroughly enjoyed the stunning fenced in back yard! The ceiling lighting within the house (recessed cans) were appreciated with labeled wall switch plates. The backyard is a comforting oasis, with outdoor lighting at night. Our dog enjoyed the fenced in back yard instead of being on a leash all the time. When not at the home our dog stayed at Puppy Paradise in St. Simons Island (912) 268-4725) so that we could play golf. She came home very tired. Lilmar's customer service is exemplary, always available!

This was the perfect spot for our family of 4’s vacation! The outdoor space is phenomenal. We loved the heated pool and all the seating areas. Comfort was clearly a priority in this home- all of the seating, beds, and amenities invite relaxation and ease. The location is great too- we started each day with a walk to the beach. And such a bonus that we could bring our little dog along for the fun. Highly recommend!

We spent 4 weeks here and were very comfortable. We found the property to be clean and as advertised. We have an older dog, and the lack of steps going outside was a plus. The back yard was fully fenced and featured a pool, fire pit and plenty of seating. We spent most of our indoor time in the sunroom, which featured a large TV and ample seating. An outdoor TV would be a nice addition. We would definitely stay here again.
