Live Oak Cottage

The house is quite spacious & has a well-appointed kitchen. It also has a large fenced in yard. But the pool is fantastic! We appreciated Lilmar Vacations’ responsiveness.

Overall, house and property were nice. Amenities were good.Living room and particularly the sofa, were inadequate. Sofa should have been replaced as it was sagging and uncomfortable. Lilmar group made a good effort to help but it really should have been replaced. It was unfortunate that we couldn't really relax and watch tv at the end of the days in a comfortable way, especially for our three week stay. Master bathroom had some issues - shower leaks, water and drains smell like sulfur, shower floor tiles are chipped. Overall it's a nice place that needs some TLC. I don't think any of this is a surprise. Area and location are excellent. Pool was nice although the weather only allowed for us to use it twice. Pool furniture needs some repair.

We had a fantastic stay at this pet-friendly vacation home. The single-story layout was open, comfortable, and easy to enjoy…perfect for relaxing without worrying about stairs, especially while traveling with our two senior rescue dogs. Less than a mile to the nearest grocery store and a short bike ride to SSI landmarks, the house is conveniently located. It was also well stocked with all the necessities—everything from a fully equipped kitchen to everyday essentials. The large fenced yard and heated pool added an extra level of comfort and enjoyment to our stay. Lilmar is a standout vacation rental company. Throughout the booking process and during our stay, the Lilmar team was extremely responsive, helpful, and professional, quickly responding to our questions and addressing any property hiccups. It’s clear this Veteran-friendly company genuinely cares about the guest vacation experience. We would absolutely recommend this home and Lilmar Vacations to anyone looking for an enjoyable, stress-free getaway to the Golden Isles.

My comments echo all the other reviews for this property. The house was perfect for our group of 4 with 2 dogs. We found the place to be exceedingly clean and well appointed. The house is on a very quiet street that is close to anywhere you may need or want to go. The outdoor space was lovely - between the pool and the firepit area, there was plenty of areas hang out throughout the day and night. We will definitely be back!

Such an amazing property and location! A short drive to the beach and great restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed the backyard - the pool and cabana area were incredible, even with the summer rainstorms. The kitchen was well-stocked and all the mattresses were very comfortable (slightly on the firm side, but everyone found them to be comfortable in our group). I'd recommend this property without hesitation and can't wait to come back!

Great property. We were close enough to the beach to get there in just minutes. But frankly, with summer's pop-up storms, having a pool outside the back door meant we weren't weather dependent for our fun. Everything we needed was provided. The kitchen was fully equipped, the pool was perfect. Unfortunately, we didn't get to use the firepit for s'mores because the wood was too wet. We brought our two rescues and they settled right in. Large fenced back yard, with a smaller fence to keep them away from the pool and us worry free. Nicely furnished inside. The sun porch was my favorite spot when the rain started. The primary bath's shower was plenty large.Communication was frequent, complete, and timely.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Live Oak Cottage! Plenty of room indoors and plenty of fun outdoors. Our 2 dogs loved the yard, our 2 young people loved the pool, we loved the quiet. Everything we needed was provided. The beach was close, but with intermittent rain, being able to hop into the pool and into the house in a flash was an unanticipated bonus.

The house was ok. I would have appreciated some hand rails on the steps as I have some mobility issues. We found a mold issue with the washing machine but a repair person was sent out the same day to address the problem.

We chose this get-away home because it has a pool and it was wonderful. The outdoor area was total with fire pit,swing and a perfect fence for the pup. The whole property was quiet and so relaxing! Thank you for all the full kitchen items and extra towels. We loved Live Oak Cottage.

We had a wonderful week at Live Oak Cottage in late June and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and well-appointed getaway on St. Simons Island. The highlight for us was definitely the private pool and adjacent cabana area. The comfortable couches, outdoor TV, and pool made for magical evenings watching movies under the stars while lounging in the water—something you just don’t get to do in everyday life! The fire pit added to the fun, especially for the kids who loved making s’mores at night. The house itself was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully stocked with everything you could need for a beach vacation—plenty of towels, spices, dishes, and a great grill for when we opted to cook in. With six of us, we still had plenty of room to spread out, find a quiet corner to read, or just relax when we needed a little downtime. While this home isn’t as close to the beach or village as some other places we've stayed on the island, it was only an easy 8-minute drive to the sand. Plus, being closer to Frederica Road introduced us to new shops, boutiques, and restaurants we’d never explored in all our years of visiting St. Simons—an unexpected bonus. The street itself was peaceful, which made the whole stay feel even more relaxing. Again, we especially loved the outdoor cabana area and made use of it at all hours of the day. The combination of comfort, amenities, and privacy made this one of our favorite stays yet, and we will definitely be back. Thank you for a wonderful experience! — Mark K.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Live Oak Cottage with our 2 children (5&9). Everything was as advertised. The house is clean, spacious and up to date. The yard is beautiful with the fire pit and trees and bushes. Our kids loved the pool. We stayed on St Simon in mid April and the weather was perfect with 75-80F with a few chilly nights at the beginning so we added the pool heating and it was amazing. Almost like a spa. The outdoor “cinema” was a great place to spend time in the shade during pool hours. The beds were really good and firm. The bathrooms clean and spacious and the kitchen very well maintained. The location in a quiet residential street was perfect. We enjoyed taking a bike ride down to the lighthouse or a stroll through the neighborhood. We would definitely recommend that house to our friends and family. Communication with the agency was flawless and fast. We extended our stay for one more night on a short notice and the agency made it happen almost instantly.

The only thing I could recommend is to have new turning rods on the blinds in the primary bedroom. I am short and had to stand in a chair to open and close the blinds. The turning rods were missing. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We definitely recommend this home. And we plan to stay again soon. The pool was where we spent most of our time bc the beach was cold and windy. The heated pool was perfect!! The home was clean and very comfortable.
