Houdini by the Sea

The home was perfect for our crew. Very clean, super location, all as advertised and more. The pool was the highlight for the kids...well worth the extra to have it heatedEveryone was very comfortable with their individual rooms. This was the 22nd year of our annual Ladie's Weekend Getaway. Though, our first year at SSI. Working with Lilmar was seamless. They were very responsive and accommodating. We particularly enjoyed the heated pool and equipment rental discount. The house was well appointed, clean, and comfortable. Our one 'complaint' would be that the front bedroom closest to the kitchen could use some modifications. The barn doors do not provide privacy nor filter noise, the mattress was uncomfortable, and the windows/transoms could use some room darkening treatments. Thank you for the opportunity to provide feedback.

Great house! Very well appointed, and surprisingly private and quiet for being on a busy street. Renters should be aware that this is truly a rental and there are none of the usual extras in the kitchen (foil, Saran Wrap, spices etc that are often left in drawers) but there were plenty of storage containers, pots and pans, etc. Would definitely rent again, and Lilmar is the best property manager on SSI!

We really enjoyed our stay at Houdini by the Sea. The house was the perfect size for our family and was quite comfortable. The distance to the beach was a short bike ride or walk, and we loved biking to nearby restaurants and shops as well. This was our first visit to SSI, and we can't wait to come back!

All was fine except the home description and pictures indicated there were three kings upstairs and there were not. One was a full size bed. Don’t think it was even a queen. The property company worked out something for us but my grandson ended up having to sleep on a pull out couch in the main room where everyone wanted to gather in the a.m. I also feel they could be a bit more generous with the staples…t paper, laundry pods etc. The pool was nice, we heated it and there are several beach chairs in a storage area there by the pool if you would like to take them to the beach. The house is well located and beautifully decorated.

We are just home a wonderful 2 weeks at Houdini By the Sea (late Feb- early March). The location was great walkable to the Pier shopping area and the beaches. The house itself is so well equipped with a large kitchen and living spaces. Pool area is nice to sit by. Would definitely return!

Our stay in Houdini by the Sea was fabulous. The location was idea- between the beach and Pier Village Marketplace (10 min for either). The house, while on a moderately busy road, was quiet. Best things about the house: comfortable beds with bedside lights, nice bathrooms, expansive living area and kitchen, wonderful outside space (due to the setting of the pool, there is lots of open sky, room to sit). The kitchen was very well equipped. Would rent this again in a hearbeat! There are houses nearby by but we were lucky only to have guests there on the weekends.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Houdini by the Sea property. The size of the home and the location were amazing. We were in town for the RSM Classic golf Tournament and were so glad to have such a great spot for friends and clients to visit. There are a few things that we notice could use some attention but did not affect our opinion. The kitchen supplies need some attention. We replaced the can opener because the one that was there did not work. There were no cookie sheets in the kitchen or any baking dishes like a Pyrex 9 x 13. It could use a few more serving bowls, there were small bowls or very large bowls nothing in between. We never found an ironing board, but we may do. Lastly, the plugs in the bedrooms are controlled by the switch at the door and that might should be labeled on the switch. It could use some extra blankets and pillows in the closets.

Great central location for our family in GA and FL to vacation together! Plenty of room in the house for all 10 of us. Pool was refreshing, house close to the sites of St Simons.

Peaceful. Serene. Quiet. Good location. We all loved this property. There is NO lack of communication between you and the property management team; they are on top of it from communicating before, during and after your stay. We had a transformer blow during the middle of the night which knocked out our power - I contacted the property management team to let them know. Next thing I know Georgia Power was correcting the issue within 60 minutes. It was really quick! Highly recommend this property if you have a large group; very spacious. I also recommend Lilmar Property rentals; they are very nice and cordial.

We loved the house we stayed at. We had 7 adults and 4 kids. We appreciate that there is plenty of seating at the dinner table and the living room. Able to play cards/games every night. We love St. Simons and it helps that since this house was so close to the main street and near a great playground. We noticed tennis and pickleball courts across from the playground too. We ate at the Porch(more than once), enjoyed the Barrier Island Brewery and the doughnuts at Dulce dough! We loved hanging out at the pool. It's quite large! The owners had plenty of pool toys! We enjoyed the front porch during a rain storm as well. The kitchen was well stocked and so easy to cook. We also appreciated the gas grill. With a party of 10, it's just too hard to eat out at night so cooking at home is key. I highly recommend renting bikes. We rented four adult bikes and we rode every day. Easy to bike around. We biked to the lighthouse and the pier. Had no issues so we didn't need to contact the rental company. I think that is a first in our history! I appreciate that we can go directly to the house upon our arrival and use the code to log in. We would definitely stay here again! This is the second time we rented from Lilmar too!

The house was lovely, but we found that for our family, the accommodations were not perfect. We probably would have liked to have had another full bathroom and maybe another half. The bedroom with the barn doors is not private at all. When booking the house, I did not realize how open this bedroom was going to be. The Direct TV was not working, therefore there was no TV watching which made it difficult with children! The kitchen was adequate, but there were only 8 forks. That made it difficult with 10 people. Therefore, we had to purchase plastic utensils. Also, needed is a reliable coffee maker. With 5 coffee drinkers, a good coffee maker is very important. The pool was fabulous and my grandchildren's swimming skills became so much stronger during our stay. We liked being at the very end of the row of the 3 houses, that made it perfect for parking.

Loved this property! Paid for pool heating (May 19-22 stay)—absolutely worth it! Property management is EXCELLENT! 0.8 mile walk to Pier shops and restaurants , very pleasant walk in early evening.
