Emmeline Cottage

In general my family really loved the beachside location of this property. The house is lovely and well-decorated. It has 4 floors with an elevator. The top level has 2 masters, next floor is living area with one master. The kitchen is updated tho a bit small for more than 2 people to get into at once. There is a small pantry-ish area next to the half bath that was helpful and had an additional refrigerator which we used. The only one icemaker can be a bit of a challenge but we made it work and assume the others will be repaired. There is also another wine fridge on the second floor that was helpful too. The only hesitation is that the AC for the 4th floor bedrooms was struggling to keep up with the 100 degree heat and was uncomfortable for the couple in the non beach side bedroom. Maintenance was very fast and efficient and did get someone out to recharge the compressors for the 4th floor that day. Service was great. The basement does have storage for beach things and some extra beach things were left there to use. We chose to use the VayKLife credit for some bicycles, chairs, umbrellas, a wagon and 2 boogie boards. That was a good choice. My son-in-law also brought a shade cover called a Shibumi that is very popular and easier to put up and I would recommend that as well. We had a great time...ate at a lovely restaurant called The Nest ( make reservations) and just generally enjoyed the island along with a kayak trip with SouthEast Adventures (great guide named jeff).

Emmeline Cottage is everything one could hope for in a beach cottage get away! It is spacious and clean with breathtaking views! Fully stocked and comfortable. Easily accessible to pool and beach which is perfect when taking young children. Great communication with host company. We will certainly consider this property again for future vacations.

House had everything one would need, from bicycles to beach chairs to beach towels! Location is perfect, next to public beach but still plenty of space. Easy bike ride to village or restaurants. Would have been nice if the three main bedrooms had dressers in them. No where to put clothes. Also might want to check for mold. Upstairs beachfront bedroom smelled like mold when the ac was running, so I opened the return in that room and it was covered in mold around the edges. I should have called the rental agency. The bottom floor queen bedroom we also think has mold as son is allergic and he ended up going home early because of breathing issues. Was fine when not in that bedroom. May want to check the entire house.

What a fabulous beach mansion. The interior is even prettier and more spacious than the pictures indicate.The kitchen is very well stocked and equipped. I was very pleased with the cleanliness of a home that large. But best of all, you have the view of the Atlantic Ocean from so many rooms. Also the elevator is great for people who cart lots of luggage.

Very nice house, great location. The house is great for large groups, convenient to beach. The house needs a little maintenance, paint inside and out is needed. The cookware could be updated. Overall great house that we will consider again.

Home had a great ocean view! Rain caused paths to ocean to be flooded with up to 6 inches of water and unreal mosquitoes that requires deep Woods Off.

We had a fantastic stay at the Emmeline Cottage and look forward to our next visit. A couple of items to note is that there is no pantry storage so if you plan on eating in you will need to be creative on finding places for storage. Realizing that oceanfront homes are very difficult to maintain on the exteriors, I would point out there that was some deferred maintenance needed on the exterior trellis, patios, etc... mostly peeling paint but some rotted wood and pressure washing that would help spiff up the extior.

We had a wonderful time at this home. The beach is right out the door. The pool is as well, it was a busy Easter week and having the porch and roof deck to hang while watching the action was fantastic. This would be a fabulous place for kids too! House a little worn in places, upstairs carpet and downstairs couch but otherwise a lovely home with all amenities thought of including beach chairs!

Emmeline Cottage is a dream. WOW!! The view is incredible and the size of the home is immense. So comfortable. We spent six nights here between Christmas and New Year's - a wonderful place to be and escape. The beach is great - walked every day for miles. Wonderful restaurants for take out. Truly the best home ever!! We will be back!!!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our all-too-brief 3-night stay at Emmeline Cottage on St Simons Island. The cottage is the closest one to the beach and sits adjacent to a very nice two (2) pool set-up with transiting boardwalk leading out to the beach. The cottage itself is spacious, spanning three (3) floors plus an accessible outdoor rooftop patio. It was very clean and beautifully and tastefully decorated inside. In fact, it looked like something directly out of Southern Living! In addition, it offers multiple beach chairs (plus a transport cart to get them to/from the beach); an abundance of beach towels; and even bicycles - seven (7) of them! - so that you and your family can enjoy the bike-friendly paths throughout the Island area. There's even an elevator to assist with transporting your luggage up to the upper floors of the cottage. While the pictures online display the beautiful accommodations, they can't do justice to the niceness of this cottage. You just have to see it for yourself! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and plan to return again next year - hopefully for a 5-day stay next time!

We loved our time at this house...clean, comfortable, and such a great proximity to the beach. Sunrise & sunset just lovely from the top floor! If I had one complaint, and I truly only have one that is so minor it’s not even a big deal, but there is little to no space for dry foods, so end up completely stacking things on the counter. I say this only because big groups & families might find it a small drawback. Otherwise 99.9% amazing, awesome & wonderful!!! Loved it and fully hope to come back here someday!!
