Spring in St. Simons Island

Spring in St. Simons is truly a beautiful time of the year to visit.  Everything is in full bloom and as you drive down the streets with live oak moss trees tunneling over the roads - it is truly magical.  As you are crossing over the F.J. Torras Causeway, roll down the windows and take a deep breath.  You are on island time now!

The wonderful thing about St. Simons Island is that there are plenty of things to do on the island for everyone.  Whether you are looking for more of a low key getaway or looking for a little adventure, you will be sure to be satisfied.

Bike Riding and Exploring St. Simons Island in the Spring
Biking Around the Island

Explore the beauty of the island by taking advantage of the extensive bike trails.  With over 20 miles of trails, you will get to see all points of the island.  Bike over to East Beach for a picnic or venture over to the pier at the village.  Be sure to make a stop for a beverage along the way at one of the restaurants in the village!  There are several bike rentals along the island for those that are needing one!

Art In the Park Spring Festival

The 54th Art in the Park Spring Festival is an annual spring event put on by Glynn Visual Arts.  There are over 70 artists that participate in this event, making it a great way to purchase different types of gifts or items just for you!  This event is free and located right in the heart of the pier village.

Neptune Park

Neptune Park is also located right in the heart of the pier village and is a great spot to play and relax when you aren’t at the beach.  This oceanfront spot has walking paths, plenty of benches, grills, two new playgrounds, putt putt and a pool area!  This spot is great for families or those who just want to take in the beauty of the ocean front view at the pier village.

Horseback Riding

If you have ever wanted to ride horseback on the beach, St. Simons is the place to try it!  The Stables at Frederica offers wonderful tours that take you by the marshes, Musgrove Plantation and the ocean.  They provide pony rides for little ones as well, so be sure to ask about that!  Whether you are experienced or a beginner level rider, this is such a unique experience and incredible way to explore the island.
